Business Planning

I authored the book on contract drafting in Maryland (literally)! My book Contract Drafting and Review for the Maryland Lawyer, in its third edition, is used by attorneys throughout the state and has been cited by Maryland courts as authoritative guidance.

I also authored the book on business planning. My book Borek’s Business Planning Guidebook is used by attorneys in Maryland and elsewhere to help guide their clients through the panoply of issues of concern to new and evolving businesses. As a CPA and holder of a Master's Degree in business, I have a holistic perspective that allows me to see the big picture and address the many dimensions of business transactions.

Nonprofits

I advise and represent many nonprofit organizations. Having served on the board of several local and national charitable organizations, performed engagements as a CPA for nonprofit hospitals and healthcare entities, and provided legal representation to community organizations and other nonprofits, I am sensitive to the needs of both large and small organizations. Nonprofit managers should be focused on the organization’s mission, and my goal is to help them do that by removing from their shoulders the burden of legal compliance.
